•   Cooling units-maintain uniform 72 degree temperature and 50% relative humidity levels.
•   Redundant Liebert water chillers-150 BTUs per square foot; chilled water units with sufficient capacity to carry AC load in the event of a single unit failure; all water required for HVAC is routed in a sheet metal gutter with drain for containment and disposal of water in the event of a leak.
•   Compressors-All compressors are monitored and alarmed.
•   Moisture sensor alarm system-Located inside water containment system to notify of any leakage.
•   Offsite Media Storage-Offsite facility also environmentally controlled and monitored.

AIS Network Data Centers Security   Back to Top ^
Security of client data and systems are especially critical in a Managed Hosting Services environment. Each AIS Network Data Center is designed with security of these critical assets as a primary objective. Featuring redundant backbone grade firewalls including Intrusion detection and continuous virus protection, AIS Network offers predictable, reliable security of client's critical systems through consistent monitoring of all critical areas 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year.

•   Automated Alarm Systems-All entrances and exits for AIS Network facilities are protected by automated alarm systems.
•   24 / 7 / 365 on-site security guard-The experienced staff is fully trained and goes through a background check.
•   Indoor and outdoor security monitoring-CCTV is throughout the entire facility with real-time tape recording of activity. Video surveillance is in every aisle on a 24/7 basis. The outside perimeter is monitored, filmed and recorded 360 degrees. The surveillance tapes are maintained for 60 days in an on-site video library.
•   Sophisticated computerized access control system - Biometric access screening - At AIS Network facilities, a biometric scanner, with authorized clients' handprints is used to permit entry into the data center.
•   Strictly enforced security policies-Escort requirements for access to data center areas; access to facilities is limited to authorized AIS Network personnel and vendor support personnel.
•   AIS Network Security- AIS Network uses several tools and processes to help prevent hosted servers from unauthorized access. In general, AIS Network works with the client to architect and implement custom solutions that meet the specific needs of the client.

Disaster Resilient Design   Back to Top ^
Each AIS Network facility is designed to withstand disastrous conditions pertinent to its location, ensuring that the client's systems and equipment can be up and running 24 / 7 / 365, even under extreme conditions.

•   State of the art fire detection and suppression systems-Pre-action fire suppression systems designed to protect client's critical systems 24 hours a day, seven days a week; All AIS Network facilities are equipped with a dual fire detection system that uses two methods to detect smoke, virtually eliminating false alarms. By actively and continuously sampling air, the system operates independently of air movements. In operation, air samples are continuously drawn from the monitored environment, typically through a sampling pipe network with the aid of a high efficiency aspirator. On the way to the fire detector, the air samples pass through a filter assembly to screen out large airborne dust particles. Once inside the air-sampling detector, the samples are exposed to a high-intensity, broad-spectrum light source. The incident light scattered from smoke particles in the air sample passes through a series of optical components to a solid state light receiver. The light is converted to an electronic signal and passed to the control system, above floor in all areas and under every raised floor area.
•   Multi-zone, pre-action, dry pipe suppression system allows suppression to be contained to the affected area and not disrupt conditions elsewhere. AIS Network facilities are divided into sectors such that the triggering of fire suppression systems in one hosting area will not trigger fire suppression systems in all other areas.
•   Central fire alarm system notification with direct alarm to local fire department.

Connectivity   Back to Top ^
Each AIS Network Data Center is equipped to provide customers' systems IP connectivity to the AIS Network fiber network, offering high availability, scalability and reliability. AIS Network Data Center LAN Architecture has Built-in redundancy through redundant router and switch configuration of the LAN design.

•   Ethernet connectivity featuring 100 Mbps port speed.
•   Redundant facility, core and border routers.
•   Redundant distribution and access units.

Power Systems   Back to Top ^
Managed Hosting Services support systems must be predictably available, and system availability is only as predictable as the availability of power to those systems. AIS Network facilities are designed for redundancy and high availability of power to client's critical server systems, guaranteeing availability of power during scheduled maintenance activities and extreme power outages.

•   Dual power availability to each rack unit from independent PDUs, removing PDU loss as a single point of failure. By default, each full rack in a facility is provisioned with 8 outlets connecting to one 110V, 20A circuit.
•   Redundant N+1 design of Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS)-Power comes into two separate transformers that feed two separate switch gears. There are two separate UPSs for each one of these gears. Each UPS has an automatic static bypass switch incorporated within. In the event that the battery side of the UPS fails, the static switch comes into play and bypasses the battery function and goes directly to either the AC or generator power source.
•   Backup generators- AIS Network Data Centers employ three diesel-fuel powered Cummings generators. When the commercial power is lost, the UPS takes the load and start the generators. All three generators come online and two take the load.
•   Redundant stand-by generator power supplies in the event of a power feed failure from commercial power. Each Data Center has enough diesel fuel to run an entire AIS Network Data Center on generator power for a minimum of 48 hours.

System Monitoring and Management   Back to Top ^
