Channel Sales Representative

The AIS Network Channel Sales Representative (CSR) will build managed hosting services sales by developing the AISN reseller/ referral channel. The CSR will recruit, onboard, grow, and develop partner relationships through outbound activities that target Microsoft solution partners. The CSR is responsible for driving business opportunities through channel partners with AISN service offerings. The CSR will manage all aspects of scoping, creating, developing, monthly revenue achievement and day-to-day management of new and existing partnerships.

Candidate must work under a quota and be able to effectively maintain/ expand business relationships. The CSR will facilitate new business by managing the entire sales process, including identifying, qualifying and closing new opportunities generated through partners or inbound leads.

Responsibilities

  • Build partner relationships that will lead to new business referrals
  • Understand partners’ decision-making, business planning and budget processes
  • Serve as liaison to channel partners with regard to any sales-related issues
  • Maintain regular contact with partners to ensure satisfaction
  • Educate partners about new or improved products/services
  • Maintain sales records and prepare routine sales reports
  • Operate proactively with minimal supervision
  • Leverage support team to develop solution proposals and close sales

Requirements

  • Strong “hunting” skills are a must – specifically, cold calling and prospecting to build and maintain a high-quality and sustainable pipeline.
  • 2-3 years of channel sales or business development experience.
  • Sales experience in a technology-related industry preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of the managed hosting industry preferred.
  • Able to work to a monthly target.
  • Strong interpersonal and writing skills with the ability to communicate effectively through phone chat, email and face-to-face.
  • Previous established business relationships in a defined region, a strong plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. Experience with SharePoint and Dynamics CRM preferred.
  • Experience with Sage ACT and/or contact software (Constant Contact, MailerMailer, AWeber, etc.) preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in business or sales management.

Marketing/ Sales Intern
The marketing/ sales intern will support and expand the activities of the business development manager and VP of sales and marketing for a managed IT services/hosting company with headquarters in the Chicago metro area and a new presence in the Washington, DC market. The company has recently added senior-level marketing/sales professionals to its management team, which is leading an exciting transformation in the way AISN takes its products and services to market.

Candidates for an AISN internship should be currently enrolled as a student in a college or university and have completed at least 36 college/university credits with at least a 3.0/4.0 GPA. Preferred undergraduate majors include marketing, sales, business or a related field.

Students currently enrolled in a master or doctorate program (in a related study) are highly encouraged to apply and will be assigned projects with an appropriate level of difficulty/technicality.

Success in the internship is defined as exceeding, not merely meeting requirements.

Reports to

  • Business Development Manager in Chicago area on a day-to-day basis
  • VP Sales and Marketing on a virtual basis
  • CEO in DC on a virtual basis

  • Assist in the creation of white papers, case studies, Web site content and social media content as needed.
  • Assist with proposal creation.
  • Assist in the creation of our channel marketing program.
  • Survey all company collateral to ensure it has the appropriate look and feel and is consistent with our branding and style guidelines.
  • Assist in the creation of call lists for our outbound call function.
  • Research functionality of our email marketing platform and assist in the implementation and maximization of its capabilities.
  • Assist/create email newsletter.
  • Other administrative and marketing/sales duties as necessary.

Requirements

  • A high degree of organization and self-motivation.
  • Strong written and oral communications skills.
  • Detail-oriented and capable of multi-tasking.
  • Works and thinks independently with minimal oversight.
  • Positive attitude with a desire to contribute and learn.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Exchange, PowerPoint, Excel and Word). Experience with Microsoft SharePoint, Microsoft Publisher and Adobe Acrobat, a plus.
  • Experience with Sage ACT and/or contact software (Constant Contact, MailerMailer, AWeber, etc.) very desirable but not required, if you can pick it up quickly.
  • Ability to learn new technologies rapidly.
  • Familiarity with the IT industry preferred.

  • Develop a speaking opportunities calendar.
  • Contribute to ongoing SEO efforts.
  • Conduct media outreach.
  • Contribute to the company’s social media strategy and assist in the execution of its social media outreach program.
  • Other administrative and marcom duties as necessary.
