March Is Governmental Purchasing Month in VA

March is Governmental Purchasing Month in Virginia!

Just last week, Commonwealth of Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe issued a proclamation to recognize March as Governmental Purchasing Month in Virginia — in conjunction with National Purchasing Month as proclaimed by the National Institute of Governmental Purchasing (NIGP) and other public purchasing and contracting organizations across the country that recognize outstanding public purchasing and contracting professionals each year.

As the premier eGov solutions and services provider to the Commonwealth of Virginia, we at AIS Network value highly the work that public procurement professionals perform. When we celebrate Procurement Month, we acknowledge a very special, elite group of professionals that have made a difference in governmental efficiency and effectiveness. This month provides the opportunity to help educate elected officials, administrators, taxpayers and vendors about the procurement process and the admirable work that procurement professionals perform every day.

To honor those who help Virginia government achieve efficiencies and cost savings, the proclamation is distributed to purchasing officials in our commonwealth, and posted on the national and local Virginia NIGP Chapter websites. For more information, visit the Virginia Association of Governmental Purchasing and  the Capital Area Purchasing Association, which are both chapters of NIGP.

To procurement professionals everywhere and especially to our information technology procurement colleagues in Virginia, our hats are off to you!
